About Creative Writing Retreats
We believe every writer has a unique voice worth sharing. Our mission is to provide the guidance, community, and inspiration needed to transform your passion into published work.
Our Story
Founded in 2023 by a group of published authors and educators, Creative Writing Retreats was born from a simple observation: talented writers often lack access to quality instruction and supportive communities that can help them develop their craft.
We set out to create something different—a place where aspiring writers could learn from experienced professionals, receive honest feedback, and connect with like-minded individuals, all while being inspired by Britain's most beautiful landscapes.
Today, we offer a range of online courses and residential retreats that have helped hundreds of writers achieve their goals, from completing their first manuscript to securing publishing deals and literary representation.
Our Approach
We believe that great writing comes from a combination of craft, creativity, and community. Our programmes are designed to develop all three:
Craft
We teach the technical skills every writer needs—structure, character development, dialogue, pacing, and more. Our instructors break down complex concepts into practical, actionable techniques.
Creativity
We nurture your unique voice and vision. Through exercises, prompts, and exploration, we help you discover what you want to say and how to say it authentically.
Community
Writing can be solitary, but it doesn't have to be lonely. We foster a supportive community where writers encourage each other, share insights, and celebrate successes together.
