Sarah Mitchell - Published Novelist

Sarah Mitchell

Published Novelist

When I joined the Lake District retreat, I had been working on my novel for three years but couldn't seem to finish it. The combination of expert feedback, dedicated writing time, and the inspiring surroundings gave me exactly what I needed.

Within two months of returning home, I completed my manuscript. Six months later, I signed with a literary agent, and my debut novel "Echoes of Windermere" was published by Penguin Random House in 2024.

"The retreat didn't just help me finish my novel—it taught me how to think like a professional writer. The mentorship I received was invaluable, and the connections I made with fellow writers continue to support my career today."

Achievement: Debut novel published by major publisher, currently working on second book

James O'Connor - Published Poet

James O'Connor

Published Poet & Educator

I had been writing poetry for years but never had the confidence to share my work publicly. The Poetry & Verse Mastery course changed everything. The structured feedback, the study of both classical and contemporary forms, and the supportive community gave me the tools and confidence I needed.

During the course, I submitted my work to literary magazines for the first time. To my amazement, three poems were accepted for publication. This success gave me the momentum to compile my first collection.

"The course taught me that poetry isn't just about inspiration—it's a craft that can be learned and refined. My mentor helped me find my authentic voice while respecting traditional forms."

Achievement: Published in The London Magazine, Poetry Review, and The Rialto. First collection "Coastal Fragments" published 2024. Now teaches poetry workshops.

Emma Thompson - Screenwriter

Emma Thompson

Screenwriter & Script Consultant

After years working in theatre, I wanted to transition into screenwriting but didn't know where to start. The Screenwriting Fundamentals course provided a comprehensive foundation in the craft, from structure and formatting to character development and dialogue.

The course culminated in a script showcase where I pitched my screenplay to industry professionals. Two production companies expressed interest, and after several months of development, my script "The Lighthouse Keeper's Daughter" went into pre-production.

"What set this course apart was the practical, industry-focused approach. We didn't just learn theory—we learned how to pitch, how to take notes, and how to navigate the business side of screenwriting. Those skills have been essential to my career."

Achievement: Feature film in production, working as script consultant for independent films, developing second screenplay with BBC Films.
